About Us

CLASS 1
Class 1 has 24 children and comprises the Reception children and Year 1. Mrs. Susan Hogg is the Class Teacher and she is supported by Mrs. Andrea Tiller and Mrs. Kirsty Willes, our Infant Learning Support Assistants. The classroom is very well resourced with up-to-date equipment, including 3 networked computers and an interactive whiteboard. Outside facilities are also impressive with an Early Years Garden and climbing equipment being available. Back to top
CLASS 2
The 25 children in Class 2 are from Years 2 and 3 and the Class Teacher is Mrs. Carol Becher who is supported by Learning Support Assistant Miss Tara Payne. This class is based in a modern mobile classroom which is double-glazed in an attractive garden setting. Excellent resources plus five networked computers are a feature of this lovely room as well as an interactive whiteboard. Back to top
CLASS 3
Class 3 has children from Years 4-6. Teaching the children in Year 4 is Mrs. Julie Jordon whilst Mr. David Gliddon (Headteacher) and Mrs. Deborah Barrett teach the Years 5-6. Supporting the classes are Learning Support Assistants Mrs. Penny Smith and Mrs. Susan Stone. The children in these classes have excellent facilities including close proximity to the well resourced library and an integral network of 17 computers connected to the Somerset Intranet. Back to top
ICT SUITE
North Newton School has 26 networked computers with access to the Internet and County's Intranet. The children from all the classes make regular use of the PCs during lessons and also before and after school and during break times. Back to top
BREAKFAST CLUB
The Club provides children with a healthy breakfast and a good start to the day, at a very reasonable cost (currently £2.50 per session). After a nutritional breakfast the children have access to play facilities, organised games, craft activities or can just mix with their friends. The Club is a non profit making organisation and is open each school day from 7.45 a.m. to 8.45 a.m. The Club is operated by two members of staff, backed up by a committee of parents.
